Legendary Malayalam film director IV Sasi passed away on today 24th October at Chennai. According to the reports, the death was on the way to hospital at today morning.
IV Sasi is known as one of the best directors in Malayalam film industry, who created both commercial and critically acclaimed films. He directed over 150 films during the period of 1970 to 2000. The veteran director won the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration in the year 1982 for his movie ‘Aaroodam’. The Kerala state government has honored him with the JC Daniel award in 2015. He also received the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013.

He was born in 1948 at Kozhikode and married popular actress Seema, whom he introduced through his movie Avalude Ravukal. He’s known as a pathbreaker in Malayalam cinema and created some finest films like Avalude Ravukal, Anubhavam, Aavanazhi, Aalkkoottathil Thaniye, 1921, Eeta, Mrigaya and Devasuram.
